Re: To what grit do I sand aluminium before powder coating? 180 grit will be fine but if you have left some nicks on the surface if they are deeper than the 180 grit lines they might still show after coating . i think 400 is too smooth as well as the soda blasting , you want some profile on the surface for the coating to adhere to.
