I forgot to remove the plastic protective film from the outside of a metal door. The door is white prime/painted. I was able to remove the film from the inside of the door, but the outside is baked on and cracked. I have tried using a metal paint scraper, but the plastic is very resistant to that. If Goof-Off isn't doing it, I'm thinking your best bet is to sand it and re-prime it.

We are presently working with a stainless-steel material that comes from the metal suppler covered with a protective plastic film. This film is removed at the job site after installation. The film is sometimes extremely difficult to remove, often leaving a heavy adhesive residue on the metal.

I wonder if the film is easier to remove when the roof if hot from the sun. Sometimes the heat will soften the adhesive and allow the film to be removed. Also trying a hair dryer might be an option on the low setting - don't wnat to affect the paint.... roofing products that are low or no voc

This film should be removed during installation. Peel plastic off as carefully as possible. If needed, use tweezers or another small device to peel one corner up to get started. Remove the film slowly to reduce the risk of tearing it. For film stuck between glass and stainless steel: Use tweezers and start in one corner to pull up.
